Mesa Arch
This arch of stone sits right on the edge of the canyon.
We had our first campfire of the trip. The night sky in this part of the country is so bright with stars.

Half of the canyons are made by the Colorado river.
Upheaval Dome
This huge crater is much larger than it seems. Produced either by a meteor impact, or by an uplifted salt dome. It's more than two miles wide.
The ruins of an ancient Pueblo building. We had to scramble up some steep rocks to see it.

This is a road that 4x4s can take to get down to the lower canyon level. I'm glad we didn't have to take this.
